Job Description:
Instruct and supervise rowing and sculling classes for youth and adults. Typical classes involve the supervision of 1 to 16 students in an instructional and recreational setting. Preparation includes lesson planning, equipment care and classroom set up. Instruction involves both land and water lectures, demonstration and skill practice.
Requirements:
Minimum two years rowing experience, or assisting in the MBAC rowing program. Teaching skills, either formal or informal are helpful. Must be able to relate well with people and be interested in developing the skills of others.
Certifications:
A valid CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certification, U.S. Rowing Certifications are recommended but not required.
Hours:
Part-time hourly, varied hours

$9.00- $11.39 based on experience

A valid CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certification, U.S. Sailing Instructor Certifications are recommended but not required.

Mission Bay Aquatic Center Office Assistant

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Office Supervisor, the Office Assistant is expected to perform general receptionist and clerical duties. He/she will courteously receive customers and answer telephones to provide information about MBAC programs, as well as perform simple cashiering.

Hours:
Part-time positions available 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily with exceptions during the summer (June through August).
Qualifications:
Must be a SDSU or UCSD student carrying at least six units as a regularly enrolled student. General clerical and receptionist experience helpful but not required. Must enjoy working with the public and have strong organizational skills.
Compensation:
$8/hour based on experience

Youth Camp Counselor

Job Description:
Work at the beach this summer as a member of our highly motivated camp team! Counselors are responsible for all aspects of camp operations including but not limited to: safety, sport instruction, supervision, camp setup and breakdown, promotions, and special events. We have a high standard and reputation to live up to as well as an excellent safety record. We are seeking hardworking, qualified individuals to join our camp family, and continue to provide a fun safe camp environment for all. Mission Bay Youth Watersports Camp is a co-op between the Mission Bay Aquatic Center SDSU/UCSD and the Peninsula Family YMCA.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess experience working with children ages 6-17 and should have skills in at least one of the following areas: Wake boarding, Water skiing, Surfing, Kayaking, Sailing, Windsurfing, or Marine Science. Must possess or be willing to attain CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications. Must be available to work June through August. Bilingual, or sign language skills are highly desirable.

Camp Photographer/Assistant Camp Administrator

Typical Tasks:
The Camp Photographer/Assistant Camp Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of camp photography including taking portrait style pictures of all campers during their week long camp session, stocking film, posting pictures, cataloging duplicates, taking pictures for print and web advertising, etc. This position is split 50/50 as Assistant Camp Administrator with responsibilities including, camp check-in and check-out, data entry, production of roll cards, filing, camp registration, answering phones, etc.
Certifications:
Must Possess or be willing to attain CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be a SDSU/UCSD student.
Experience:
Background in working with children ages 6-17. Experience with a digital SLR camera and administrative experience preferred.
Special Considerations:
Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
Compensation:
Range I ($8.00-9.00) Dependent on experience.
