President's Welcome
Hello Aztecs!
Welcome to the Associated Students interactive website, and thank you for taking the time to research your SDSU student government. My name is Tyler Boden, your 2009-2010 AS President, and CEO of the $22 million corporation that is Associated Students at San Diego State.
Associated Students owns and operates and manages eight fully functional campus facilities to maximize your social, recreational, and educational experience as an Aztec. Facilities such as the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC), the Viejas Arena, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, and the Aztec Center are all funded through Associated Students, and are there for your benefit and enjoyment.
Aside from being a student-directed corporation, Associated Students is also the representative governing body of all students to the campus and community. Whenever an issue arises that affects the student body, AS comes together to advocate in the best interest of students. There are more than 20 different boards and committees to become involved in, and each pertains to a different aspect of student life. Whatever your major, your career goals, or your interests, there is a place for you in Associated Students!
With that, my fellow Aztecs, I challenge you to take the initiative and go the extra mile to get involved in Associated Students; to make a difference on your campus, and to foster the growth of a University made up of Minds that Move the World.
