A Letter from the President
Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to explore our AS site. I am James Poet, the 2008-2009 Associated Students President. Associated Students is the representative voice of the student body on campus and in the community. We provide social, cultural and recreational activities for students, such as: the weekly concerts every Thursday, low membership fees at our fitness center, and advance movie screenings in Montezuma Hall. We strive to ensure that the student experience outside of the classroom is full of fun, entertainment, and excitement and filled with events such as Homecoming in the fall, AzFest in the spring, and tailgates throughout…The year looks great!
In addition to the social AS programming, we also provide students with the opportunity to become involved; the chance to become leaders; and the experience of running a $21 million dollar corporation! Yes, Associated Students is a student-directed corporation. It is comprised of five executive officers and a board of directors who are students. We operate with the assistance of over 18 boards and committees that function to serve this campus and its students. We encourage students to get involved! Pick up an application in the Government Affairs Office today and make a difference here on campus. I look forward to interacting with you throughout the year! Leave your legacy on the SDSU campus!
GO AZTECS!
